Sebamed Every-Day Shampoo - environmentally and customer-friendly solid shampoo in a brand-conforming form design.

Sustainability is now beyond the status of being just another trend. More and more people are consciously making their everyday lives more environmentally friendly. This naturally also includes consumer behavior. Many consumers are increasingly looking to reduce plastic waste or avoid it as far as possible. In the area of hair care, this is achieved with solid shampoo, among other things. This product category also includes the high-quality Every-Day Shampoo from Sebamed, which we were asked to design.

The well-known brand from Germany commissioned our product and packaging design agency to initially develop ten shapes for the solid shampoo – as a kind of practical brainstorming. The new variants were to

– be clearly distinguishable from the traditional wash or soap bar.
– fit the Sebamed brand.
– can be easily implemented, i.e. produced, by the manufacturing partner.
– ideally offer the consumer functional added value, especially in terms of usage.
– emotionally “pick up” and inspire the consumer, especially with regard to the topic of “ecological sustainability”.

Once the ten basic designs had been developed, the task was to work out three shapes from these that were 100 percent convincing in terms of differentiability, brand conformity and feasibility, so that they could be conceptualized in the next step and finally pushed towards implementation. In the end, a form remained that was convincing in all respects.

The final result of the extensive development process can indeed be seen and felt:

– Due to the elegant shape design, the solid Every-Day-Shampoo by Sebamed lies very well in the hand and makes the application exceedingly easy and pleasant. In addition, the special shampoo is suitable for use at home and also when traveling. Thus, the product has the hoped-for functional added value for the consumer – in several respects.

– Significantly less water is used in the production of the solid shampoo and energy is saved during transport. In addition, shampoo in solid form is considerably more economical to use than conventional liquid shampoo. With these points, Sebamed Every-Day Shampoo meets the emotional demands of the modern consumer in terms of sustainability.

The packaging design harmonizes perfectly with the shampoo piece on the one hand and the corporate identity of the Sebamed brand on the other. It presents itself in the simple elegance that expresses and focuses on what is essentially important to the German brand: high quality and a profound benefit for the user.
